Captain Morgen Reynolds recently sat down with the founder of Indian River Distillery, Ray, for a conversation that was equal parts inspiring and down-to-earth.
What started as a look back at growing up in Vero Beach quickly turned into a deeper story about entrepreneurship, resilience, and community. Ray shared his journey from building a successful landscaping business to making the bold pivot into the world of craft distilling — a move that reflects both his creativity and his willingness to take risks.
But what stood out most wasn’t just the business success — it was Ray’s commitment to the community. His work ethic and genuine passion for people are evident in everything he does.
Beyond the distillery, Ray is deeply involved in the local community. He’s the driving force behind the Treasure Coast Spirit Festival, currently serves as President of Sunrise Rotary, and is a Board Member of Main Street Vero Beach. Simply put — he’s someone who shows up, gives back, and gets things done.
As the saying goes, if you want something done, ask a busy person — and Ray is a perfect example of that.
